Janika Slanc Vovk
Deputy Head, Pharmacokinetics and Preclinical Research

I work as a researcher in the field of pharmacokinetics but I am a clinical pharmacist by profession. I decided to take up a job at Krka because I saw it as an opportunity to work on things that I really like and to be involved in the development of new medicines.
As pharmaceutical development is a multidisciplinary field, our team has many versatile members. The cooperation between them plays an essential role in our line of work. When we plan and optimise the release rate of an active substance from a certain dosage form, we work hand in hand with our technologists and analysts. We all gain from our teamwork because it helps us to streamline the development process and learn from it considerably.
We also work with external partners to plan and carry out our studies. Apart from professional knowledge and good communication, the key to carrying out a successful study is factoring in the cultural differences between Europe, Russia, North America and other parts of the world. Good results show that we know what we are doing, and I am happy to be a part of our dynamic team.
