Embracing the future with a new inscription along Krka’s Girl with a Growing Book

A ceremonial event marked our anniversary year with the unveiling of a new book alongside Krka’s Girl with the Growing Book sculpture. The sculpture, standing proudly on the platform in front of our two most advanced pharmaceutical production facilities, has been enriched with a new book bearing the inscription: “We embrace ambitious ideas, professional attitude, creativity, boldness and courage. For 70 years.” The event was graced by the presence of the Slovenian President, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, who addressed the audience.
Krka’s Girl with the Growing Book sculpture, created by the esteemed academic sculptor Jurij Smole, was first installed in 2019 when we joined the nationwide Growing Book project.
Since then, Krka’s Girl has grown alongside us, as we continue to add new books to commemorate significant milestones, each inscribed with thoughts that reflect our attitude towards education, work, innovation, and creativity. The message accompanying our 70th anniversary encapsulates the principles that have guided us throughout the years and serves as a valuable roadmap for the future.
In her ceremonial address, President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, emphasized the following: “I am pleased that Krka has recognized the broader societal significance of the Growing Book project and supported it in such a decisive manner. On the company’s 65th anniversary, you went even further. You became the only company that put a sculpture of a girl holding a growing book at the very heart of your company. This serves not only as an outstanding example for the entire business world but also reflects your belief that true path lies in the expansion and deepening of one’s knowledge.”
The commemorative monograph titled 70 Years: Living a Healthy Life has thus enriched our book collection, serving as a vivid testament to Krka’s distinctive identity and unique corporate culture.
On this occasion, Krka’s President of the Management Board and CEO, Jože Colarič, reflected on the enduring essence of success when faced with the ever-changing business environment that demands new strategies: “At the core, it is still the people who matter the most. The achievement of our goals has always depended on us alone. This was true in the past, remains true today, and will hold true tomorrow.”
