Transport

Our environmental care also covers modernising our car fleet. We use new vehicles fitted with the latest engines.

We are increasing the percentage of electric cars in line with our mobility policy. Krka is a global company in need of effective and well organised transport that can meet diverse demands and market requirements. We deliver our products to mostly European and Asian markets, using all means of transport. Transport is organised through our own transport department where we either use our own vehicles or employ contractual carriers.

STATE-OF-THE-ART CAR FLEET

We use modern vehicles with environmentally sound engines for road transport. For supplying products to distant markets we use transport by sea, air or rail. In 2023, we organised transport for 11,000 shipments of finished products, raw materials and packaging materials. Krka’s vehicles covered over 2.0 million km and used 569,000 liters of fuel.

Krka employees in Slovenia and abroad join the European Mobility Week in September with a Car-Free Day.

We are a well-connected community committed to sustainable mobility, a healthier environment, and improved quality of life. We came to work by sustainable means of transport: on foot, by bike, scooter, rollerblades, carpooling, etc.

ELECTRIC TRUCK

Krka is the proud owner of the first heavy-duty electric truck for transporting products in Slovenia. In a year the electric truck is expected to:

• Cover more than 50 thousand kilometres, which is more than the circumference of the Earth (approximately 40 thousand kilometres). A single charge will suffice for about 300 kilometres;
• Compared to a fossil fuel truck of the same category, it will save more than 40 tons of CO_2, which would require planting 2,600 trees to cancel out the negative impact;
• Save more than 15,000 litres of fuel. This is the average amount of fuel used by 10 cars in Slovenia per year.
